Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Language and Arts (GTCFLA)is a state-owned full-time institute of higher education with five-year primary and pre-school teacher education as its distinctive strengths. It was founded in 2001 through the merger of GuangdongForeignLanguageNormal School and GuangdongArtNormal School established in 1978 and 1983 respectively. With distinctive features of humanities education and abundant education resources, it was granted A (Excellence) in the assessment of student cultivation project organized by the Ministry of Education in June, 2007.And in August 2013, the college has become the provincial demonstrative college construction unit.

Located in the traditional Wushan university area in Guangzhou, it comprises of Wushan Campus and Yanling Campus. Department of International Business, Department of Music, Department of Information Technology, Department of Dance, Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching, Department of Basic Courses and School of Continuing Education are in Wushan Campus.Department of Foreign Languages,Department of Pre-school Education, Department of Chinese Language and Culture are in Yanling Campus.
There exist 41 major (direction), 9597 full-time students, and adult education in reading 5510 students. Based upon the principle of “school-industry partnership and study-work interaction”, the college has established five groups of programs with distinctive features: teacher education, language and culture, art designing, performing and computer application. International education school is equipped with advanced and well-facilitated practice laboratories and research fields. So far there have been 2 training bases supported by Central Finance Ministry, 13 campus training bases among which 5 are provisional key ones and 450 off-campus training bases. Its training facilities and conditions prove to be in the leading row among similar colleges in Guangzhou.
International education school is strong in teaching faculties. Since 2008, school has been the host of Overseas Chinese Preschool Teacher training courses for five times and cultivated 157 qualified pre-school teachers for ten countries and areas including Indonesia, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei,Costa Rica,Cambodia, the Philippines,South Korea and Canada. In 2013, school was authorized to be one of the only five high vocational colleges in Guangdong province as the test college to admit students from Hongkong.
