Environmental science

Environmental science is a subject with strong applicability, which relates to the public welfare of environmental protection, ecological security and important resources construction. The objectives of this major is to cultivate qualified personnel with the basic theory, knowledge and skills of environmental science, who can be engaged in environmental assessment, technology development, operation and management of factory, scientific research, environmental protection and environmental management at scientific research institutions, higher schools and other departments like petrochemical, construction, metallurgy, energy, light industry, medicine, food, and environmental protection departments.

Architecture

Huangshan University is richly endowed by nature geographical advantage, which can develop the study about Huizhou culture and Huizhou style architecture and develop the characteristic teaching on regional architecture. We gradually formed the concept: “upgrading the university running level, helping the development of local economic”, the disciplines of major construction: “depending on geographical advantage, making the special subject” and formed as the applied major guiding by marketing.

Forestry

Founded in 1956, the subject of Forestry was started to recruit the bachelor students from 2006 and approved as national characteristic subject at 2009.The amount of students in the college is 320.The annual employment rate is over 98%.

There are 27 teachers, including 6 professors,12 vice professors； 6 teacher with doctor degree, 11 with master degree; and 2 famous provincial teacher. It had formed a teaching team with strong ability of research and rich experience of teaching.

There are 11 laboratories for seed testing, tissue culture, forest cultivation, forest tree breeding, forestry and 3S mapping, measuring tree and forest managers, soil physical and chemical analysis, landscape plants, landscape plant diseases and insect pests, wild plant resources exploitation and molecular ecology. Moreover, we built 24 training base out of campus such as xiuning south of forest farm, jixi city forest farm, huangshan city forestry science research institute, huangshan golf yard, and Yixian hongcun base.

Tourism management

Our university established this subject in 1985, which is one of the 11 earliest higher education institutes of tourism in china and the first tourism major in Anhui province. It began to recruit undergraduate students in 2002. It named as the Anhui provincial model major about reforming undergraduate course in 2004 and national special major in 2008.It was approved as Anhui provincial level teaching team and Anhui tourism training central program in 2008. It became the key subject of Huangshan University. In 2009, it became the lead unit of Anhui applied universities union in tourism management.

Marketing

Found 2003, the subject of marketing was started to recruit the students at September 2006. It was named as the provincial special subject. There are 355 students at school now. In recent three years, the employment rate is over 95%.

We can provide some training laboratories to the students, including the business atmosphere training room, the comprehensive simulation laboratory of marketing, the marketing and international business training room, the comprehensive training room of electronic commerce, the statistical analysis and software application lab, the comprehensive simulation lab of enterprise management, the international business negotiation simulation training room and the international trade and modern logistics training room. The above comprehensive training room of electronic commerce is established by the investment of enterprise, which introduce the enterprise into campus to form the close cooperation, to realize the close connection between theory and practice, to cultivate the applied personnel.

Art design

Art design (product design) was established at 2006 and revised to independent major Product design at 2012. It bases on the rich Huizhou culture, aims to develop Chinese traditional product design art, especially in Huizhou culture. At 2009, it was named as the provincial experimental area to cultivate creative and applied personnel in art design. And it was named as the provincial comprehensive reform pilot major. There are 200 students at school and 100% employment rate in recent three years. The employment institute cover Anhui province, Zhejiang province, shanghai city, Shenzhen city and so on.

It follows the discipline of cultivating professional personnel in art design and highly focuses on the cultivation of applied talents. It uses the compound teaching mode with workshop classroom teaching and the professional studio system and enterprise cooperation. Through building the teaching platform outside and inside the classroom, it provides the hardware to cultivate the high quality applied talents. Now there are 5 practice and research place, such as the art design R&D Center, Training Center in Art College and the Product Design Room. Meanwhile there are stable training base off campus, which was built with Hangzhou Qing mang Design Co. Ltd., Huangshan Hui lattice Design Co. Ltd. and other 30 companies.

Cooking and nutrition education

The school of tourism has started the newly-rising program of cooking and nutrition education since 2004, being the main examination college for CMEP in Anhui Province. This program aims at cultivating elites who has a good command of basic theory, knowledge and techniques about cooking and nutrition, well familiar with cooking techniques and management, and qualified for working in hotels, schools and other official institutions as a professional man. main courses

Mechanical Design and Automation

The university started the course of Mechanical Design and Automation in 2008 and first admitted students in 2009. In 2011, this program got sponsored from the project of cultivating excellent engineers in Anhui.

The university has around 360 students at present and their employment rate has been above 98% in the past three years.

There are several laboratories in campus for practice such as Metalworking practice base, Mechanical innovation practice base, electrical & electronic experimental center, mechanical and electrical drive control center, manufacturing system under the network. Thus, in addition to those well-equipped faculty, the digital manufacturing technology from the Anhui technology center and other teaching aiders lays the good foundation for such application-talents cultivation.
