2. Program Aims & Learning Outcomes

A better understanding to China’s business environment and its relations to the world;

A good master of business policy and strategy;

A complete concept about the procedures of import and export;

An analytical framework for supply chain management in international context;

A fundamental knowledge in elementary Mandarin learning.

3. Program Characteristics

The Broad Discipline of Short Term Business aims to provide students with a better understanding about the business and trade in current China, develop a deep insight into China’s Economy and its culture, so that they can further develop themselves:

Students can have an aspiration for further studies in China;

The curricula of Practical Business Learning allow space for students to take Electives;

Colorful practices courses outside classroom help students adapt to environment quickly easily;

Friendly student buddies will be chosen to help students know more about the university community and about the Culture of China.

4. Program Structure

All students admitted through Short Term Business have to complete one semester curriculum. Students will get the transcript at the end of the semester and get a certificate of learning at HIEU.

5. Career Prospects

Graduates are expected to continue their further learning on China’s business related area, and find employment in the private and public sectors, such as business services, sales and marketing, customer services, financial institutions which require capable graduates equipped with certain background in business and trade of China.

6. Professional Recognition

The graduates are expected to get a certificate issued by HIEU.

7. Entrance Requirements

□ Photocopy of certificate of the highest academic degree earned and original school transcript

□ Proof of working, if the candidate has graduated for years

□ Schooling certificate and three years transcript, if the candidate is still studying

□ Certificate of no criminal conviction issued by local police, if the applicant has graduated from high school for years

□ Photocopy of physical examination record for foreigners

8. Tuition and Accommodation Fees

The tuition fee is RMB 8,150. The tuition fees include registration fee, text books.

* The accommodation fee for the regular room is waived.

* Tuition fee and accommodation fee are subject to the refund policy of HIEU, except in the case of program cancellation.

The dead line for Fall semester is June; the deadline for Spring semester is December.

1. Research Methodology

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of doing research based on theoretical principles and application of different methods to conduct research. This course aims to prepare students in making the thesis and or conducting any research project.

2. Strategic Management

The purpose of this course is to study the nature, function and significance of business policy and strategy; and the develop knowledge and skill related to the analysis, formulation and implementation of business policy and strategy. Traditional and contemporary cases are used to review concepts and principles that have been learned during the program, to correlate elements of business and management, and to develop and improve understanding of their interrelationship, interdependency and operational.

3. International Trade

This course is designed to provide students with the complete concepts about the procedures of importation and exportation. It emphasizes on international trade practice, international trade law and regulations. The students are to be expected to have an overall knowledge of the terms and conditions in a sales contract of goods, understand duties and responsibilities of different parties involved in an international transaction and know the risks that might be encountered during the transaction. Also, students should familiarize themselves with the procedures for conducting a transaction upon successful completion of this course.

4. Global Strategy and Policy

This course looks into a company‟s considerations and strategy to go global. The what, why and how to establish a market presence in the world's major markets are discuss. The convergences of economic systems, technological change and others, facilitated the coordination of a company‟s strategy on a worldwide scale.

5. Supply Chain Management

To provide an analytical framework for supply chain management in an international context. Topics include logistical relationships within the firms, specific Logistics and Supply Chain issues.

6. Oral Chinese

This course is intended to teach students basice phrases and words for daily communication.

7. Comprehensive Chinese

This course is intended to teach students Pinyin and how to write Chinese Characters.
