Admission to a Degree Program

※ The application deadline for applying for a degree program is each June 30th.

※ Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

※ Students who are studying in China upon application should also submit a study certificate and transcripts issued by the institution.

① Bachelor’s Degree Programs

Application Qualification

The applicant must be a foreign citizen in good health, aged between 18 and 35, possessing a valid passport, and has graduated from an institution equal to Chinese senior high school.

Application Materials

1. Application Form for International Students to Study at Dalian Maritime University

2. Photocopy of the personal information page of passport (photocopy of a valid Chinese visa is required to submit if an applicant is in China upon application)

3. Notarized high school diploma or Enrollment Certificate of high school (applicable to this year’s graduates who haven’t received the diploma)

4. Notarized all high school transcripts

5. HSK Certificate (4th level or above)

Applicants without an HSK certificate (4th level or above) should attend the Mandarin level test organized by DMU. Those who get a result equivalent to HSK 4th level or above will be considered.

② Master’s Degree Programs

Application Qualification

The applicant must be a foreign citizen in good health, aged between 18 and 40, possessing a valid passport and a Bachelor Degree.

Application Materials

1. Application Form for International Students to Study at Dalian Maritime University

2. Photocopy of the personal information page of passport (photocopy of a valid Chinese visa is required to submit if an applicant is in China upon application)

3. Notarized certificate of bachelor’s degree or Enrollment Certificate of bachelor’s degree study (applicable to this year’s graduates who haven’t received the degree certificate)

4. Notarized all official undergraduate transcripts

5. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors

6. Study Plan, including personal information, education background, work experience, and academic research proposal (no fewer than 2000 Chinese characters in Chinese or no fewer than 2500 words in English)

7. HSK Certificate (5th level or above)

Applicants without an HSK certificate (5th level or above) should attend the Mandarin level test organized by DMU. Those who get a result equivalent to HSK 5th level or above will be considered.

③ Doctoral Degree Programs

Application Qualification

The applicant must be a foreign citizen in good health, aged between 18 and 50, possessing a valid passport and a Master Degree.

Application Materials

1. Application Form for International Students to Study at Dalian Maritime University

2. Photocopy of the personal information page of passport (photocopy of a valid Chinese visa is required to submit if an applicant is in China upon application)

3. Notarized bachelor’s degree certificate, master’s degree certificate or Enrollment Certificate of master’s degree study (applicable to this year’s graduates who haven’t received the degree certificate)

4. Notarized all official transcripts of undergraduate study and master’s degree study

5. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors

The applicant must be a foreign citizen in good health, aged between 18 and 35, possessing a valid passport, and has graduated from an institution equal to Chinese senior high school.

5. Internationally recognized certificate of proficiency in English (TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC or other certificates)

Applicants without a certificate as above mentioned should pass English level test organized by DMU so as to be admitted to attend the bachelor’s degree programs in English-medium.

⑤ English-medium Master’s Degree Programs

Application Qualification

The applicant must be a foreign citizen in good health, aged between 18 and 40, holding a valid passport and a Bachelor’s Degree, having a good command of English and solid academic background.

Application Materials

1. Application Form for International Students to Study at Dalian Maritime University

2. Photocopy of the personal information page of passport (photocopy of a valid Chinese visa is required to submit if an applicant is in China upon application)

3. Notarized high school diploma or High school enrollment certificate (applicable to this year’s graduates who haven’t received the diploma)

4. Notarized all high school transcripts

5. Internationally recognized certificate of proficiency in English (TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC or other certificates)

Applicants without a certificate as above mentioned should pass English level test organized by DMU so as to be admitted to attend the bachelor’s degree programs in English-medium.
