Summer Training Program

China has a long history, cultivating its broad and profound civilization. In order to let international Chinese-learning students get more opportunities to learn and practice, immersively feel the culture of Western China, and expand the understanding of the history, geography, culture of Western China, our school plans to organize 2-3 Western Culture experience activities from May to October each year, 15-21 days each time. The activity includes Chinese listening, oral Chinese intensive training, seminars and sightseeing, investigation, etc.

The Hui Culture Park

The Hui Culture Park lies on the north of the Grand Mosque, Najiahu, Yongning County, closed to the Yong Ning Exit of Beijing-Tibet Expressway, built on the old Grand Mosque in Najiahu and Hui-style Najiahu village, featured on displaying the Islamic architectural culture, customs, food culture, religion culture, farming and business culture. Welcome you, my friend, from all over the world, to the Hui Culture Park, to Aishah Palace (performing hall), to experience the magnificence of Hui’s history and culture, enjoy the ballet Moon over Helan, taste the strong vitality booming from our national spirit and the Islamic Civilization.

Shapotou

Shapotou is located in the north of Zhongwei City, Ningxia, 20 kilometers away from the edge of southeast Tengger Desert. Desert, the Yellow River, mountains, and oasis are all gathered here, forming its beauty both magnificence like Northwest Scenery and graceful like Jiangnan. With those unique natural landscape, and colorful cultural landscape, Shapotou is praised as the world monopoly tourism resource by tourism experts. Shapotou is the first national desert ecological nature reserve, and lies at one of China’s three largest belling deserts -- Shapo bell. The fruitful achievements of desertification control wins it the title of Global 500 Environmental Protection Unit by the UN in 1994, being awarded the Scientific and Technological Progress Award by the State Council the same year, and then known as the Sand Capital all through the world. In 2004, Shapotou is awarded the title of National Fitness 20 Famous Landscape by the State Sports General Administration. In May 8, 2007, Shapotou Scenic Spot in Zhongwei City is officially approved as the state 5A-class tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration.

Mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty

Mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty lies in Helan Mountain eastern foothill, which is located about 30 km away from the west of Yinchuan City in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty is the royal mausoleums of Xixia Dynasty. It’s one of the largest and the most completed existing imperial mausoleum in China, with 9 emperors' mausoleums and 253 subordinate tombs spreading around the burial area of 53 square kilometers. In 1988, Mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty is released as a national key cultural relics protection unit, and the national key scenic area by the State Council, then known as the Mysterious Miracle and Oriental Pyramid by the world. Xiaxia was once capitalized in Yinchuan city, which called Xingqing Palace by then. Daxia Country, called Xixia by historians because of located in the northwest of China and by the west of the Yellow River, endured 189 years from 1038 to 1227. During those nearly 200 years, the people of Xixia created a great splendor culture, greatly promoting the development of the Chinese nation.

Rock Paintings in Helan

Rock painting, just as the name implies, is pictures carved in stones. Rock painting is the the most primitive form of people to express themselves, and to express their creativity, which could to say without exaggeration, rock painting is the world's most popular culture, the world's art language, the comprehensive and reproduction of the natural ecology, spiritual civilization, history, religion, and aesthetics, one of the longest preserved artistic creation, an symphony fused of wild and reason, reality and fantasy, naive and smart. Chinese rock painting is divided into South Faction and North Faction by the Yangtze River, with South Faction painting by a pen with animal blood mixed with the powder of Fe2O3 on stones, reflecting the farming culture; while North Faction painting with harsh substances like stones, bones and hard rocks engraving or carving on rocks, mainly reflecting the nomadic culture and totem worship. Rock Paintings in Helan have recorded the ancient natural ecology and Northern China nomadic people’s material and spiritual civilization around Helan Mountain in a variety of performance techniques, providing valuable and vivid information for the research on the history, folk custom, religion, and art of the northern nationalities in ancient China.

Notes: Specific courses and tourist routes could be adjusted according to the needs, and the cost varies according to different courses and tourist routes, but the whole costs will be among 3000-7000 yuan (not including the entry and exit travel fee).
