Program Scholarship

“Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Overseas Students Program Scholarship” is provided to candidates who are enrolled in five-year TCM (Acupuncture) bachelor degree program taught in English.


I. Eligibility

1. The applicant must be a self-supported overseas student who will either be enrolled or is currently astudent in the five-year TCM (Acupuncture) bachelor degree program taught in English.(from year one to year five).

2. For the returning students in the degree program taught in English, the eligibility includes applicant’s good overall performance and active participation in various school activities in the past academic year.

3. For the returning students in the degree program taught in English, the eligibility also includes the completion of 80% of the prescribed credits of compulsory courses of the past academic year

(the transferred overseas students from another university, during the first year, should be regarded as a new student when his or her eligibility for this scholarship is being considered).

4.This scholarship will not be offered to students who already obtained Chinese Government Scholarship(“Chinese Government Excellent Student Scholarship” is not included in “Chinese Government Scholarship” ) and Shanghai Government Scholarship.


II.Amount of the Scholarship

The amount of“Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Overseas Students Program Scholarship” is 12000RMB for each academic year. Students who are in the five-year TCM (Acupuncture) bachelor degree program taught in English can apply for and obtain this scholarship for a maximum of five academic years.


III. Procedure of Implementation

1.At the beginning of each academic year, the overseas students’office will evaluate the students’ overall performance as well as academic performance and publicize the name of the candidate students for no less than three working days.

2.When no adverse opinions are received, the overseas students’office will announce the students who obtained the scholarship.

3.Overseas students must pay the whole annual tuition fee before they can get the amount of “Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Overseas Students Program Scholarship”. If in any case, the student has violated law and regulations in China, or has been punished for breaking the regulations of the university, his or her eligibility for this scholarship of the current academic year will be compromised.


IV. Other notes

This regulation is to be implemented since September, 2015. All current students who are enrolled in five-year TCM (Acupuncture) bachelor degree program taught in English( since year 2012) can apply for this scholarship. Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine holds the ultimate right to explain the detailed implementation of this regulation.
